New Year-Blog

It’s that time of year when everyone starts thinking of their goals and resolutions for the New Year. If your goal is to lead a healthy and fit lifestyle there’s more ways to go about it than joining a gym. Living close to the mountains and the ocean we have so much variety of activities to choose from. Having variety is the best way to stick to your goals and stay motivated throughout the year! Here are a few activities the Rope Runner Team does to stay active in the Sea to Sky Corridor.

Rope Runner– Of course! In our free time we love to try the difficult elements like the monkey bars, the vertical climb and the hanging boards to gain some strength. Also the slack-line to practice our balance!

Hiking– There’s trails for the whole family in The Sea to Sky. When we’re feeling keen we hit all 3 peaks in one go! The Chief Trifecta!

Skating – The perfect Canadian winter activity. When it gets cold enough our lakes freeze over, making an amazing outdoor rink. If it’s not cold enough there’s always Brennan Park arena.

Mountain Biking- Wow biking in Squamish is amazing! from mellow easy trails like Rae Peters and Wonderland to full on gnarly stuff like In and out Burger or Rigs N Zen. Stamina is needed for the climb and pure nerves of steel for the down.

Paddle Boarding- The Howe Sound is spectacularly beautiful on a calm morning. Paddling can be a great balance challenge and you might even take part in a bit SUP Yoga.

Our Top 2 On-the-Go Adventure Snacks

Kei – Guide
“My go-to adventure snack when I’m out for a long ride, ski touring or just a little peckish is apple/fruit sauce in a squeeze tube! Basically, baby food. Easy to digest! I don’t have time to chew, I’m trying to shred!”

Clare – Manager
“Dates! Just a bag of dates! With the stones removed obviously as you don’t want to waste time spitting them out.
